Albuquerque Rescue
Mission
Matthew 25:34-36
"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit
me." NIV
In
November of 2002 a door was opened to minister in one of the cities local
shelters. At one point in time we were holding services weekly. Now due to
other ministries reaching out in this area we are now doing one service a
month. We minister at the mission on the second Tuesday of every month. If
you live in the Albuquerque area we would welcome you to join with us in
this vital and life-changing ministry.

Volunteers Making a Difference - May 2004 |

Those at the Mission know Darrel
Mason preaches from hard won personal experience. |
|
When Darrel Mason preaches about God's
grace during one of the Mission's nightly Chapel services,
he knows what he's talking about. And when he tells homeless
men to avoid the traps of drugs, alcohol and gangs, and to
trust their lives and futures to Jesus Christ, he is
speaking from hard won personal experience. Darrel
volunteers to lead Chapel services at the Mission three
times a month, giving of his time and experience to help
change lives.
When I was young, I had lots of potential, but I dropped out
of college because of the lure of making easy money dealing
drugs. That bad choice led from drug dealing to motorcycle
gangs, felony convictions, and prison. Ironically, it was in
prison where Darrel discovered what true freedom was by
surrendering his life and future to Christ.
I have such a heart for the people who come to the Mission.
I've been there. I've made bad choices and had to live with
the consequences, and I want to let people know that there's
another way, and that there's freedom in Jesus Christ.?
Besides volunteering at the Mission, Darrel has written a
book entitled The Discipleship of a Christian
Journey about his experiences, and is a popular
speaker at jails, prisons, and churches.
Darrel's uncompromising style of presenting the word
of God in truth and love is exactly the kind of message that
the men who attend Albuquerque Rescue Mission chapel
services need to hear says Dave Goodnight, the Mission's
Volunteer Recruitment Manager. " We are blessed to have him
volunteer here."
Thanks for volunteering and helping the Lord change lives
through Albuquerque Rescue Mission.
